Liebe ist für Thomas Brasch eine Haltung, die sich jeder Festlegung verweigert. Eine Haltung, die ihre Träume fürchtend und sehnend der Wirklichkeit aussetzt und das Mögliche stets in den Horizont des Unmöglichen stellt. Seine dichterische Leidenschaft hofft und verzweifelt, vertraut und betrügt, preist und vernichtet. Lars Eidinger liest dessen Gedichte und George Kranz interpretiert sie auf dem Schlagzeug.

Thomas Brasch, geboren 1945 in Westow, aufgewachsen in der DDR. 1964 Aufnahme eines Studiums der Journalistik in Leipzig. 1965 aufgrund von Systemkritik zwangsexmatrikuliert. 1966 erste Theaterarbeit an der Volksbühne Berlin. 1967–68 Studium der Dramaturgie an der Hochschule für Film und Fernsehen Babelsberg. Ab 1970 Arbeit als freier Schriftsteller, erste Hörspiele und Theaterstücke, u. a. »Lovely Rita« (1975). Nach seiner Übersiedelung in die BRD 1976 veröffentlichte Brasch weiterhin Theaterstücke sowie Prosa- und Lyrikbände, u. a. »Vor den Vätern sterben die Söhne« (1977), »Kargo. 32. Versuch auf einem untergehenden Schiff aus der eigenen Haut zu kommen« (1977) oder »Mädchenmörder Brunke« (1999). Außerdem Übersetzungen von Shakespeare und Tschechow sowie Arbeiten als Regisseur, u. a. bei »Engel aus Eisen« (1981) und »Der Passagier – Welcome to Germany« (1988).
Brasch starb im Jahr 2001 in Berlin.

George Kranz, geboren 1956. Von 1980 – 1983 Schlagzeuger der Berliner Band Zeitgeist, parallel Arbeiten mit Ulla Meinecke. 1983 erlangte Kranz mit seiner Solo-Single »Trommeltanz« oder auch »Din Daa Daa« internationale Bekanntheit. Es folgten weiter Solo-Alben, u. a. »Move it!« (1989) und »Sticky Druisin‹« (1995). Daneben immer wieder Musik für Film und Fernsehen. Seit »Alles Plastik« (Regie: Wolfgang Kolneder, 1980) regelmäßige Arbeiten am Grips Theater – als Musiker bei »Linie 1« (Regie: Wolfgang Kolneder, 1986) sowie als Texter, Komponist oder Produzent. Außerdem Arbeiten als Schauspieler, u. a. im Film »Magic Sticks« (1987), für den er auch den gleichnamigen Titelsong schrieb, und unter der Regie von Thomas Brasch bei »Der Passagier – Welcome to Germany« (1988). Seitdem schreibt er Theater- und Filmmusiken und arbeitete mit Third World, The Roots, den Ying Yang Twins, den Phenix Horns und vielen anderen.

    Konzerthaus Dortmund is easy to access with public transport. With concert tickets that include a note about the DSW21 Kombiticket, using all VRR public transport to travel to and from the event is free (you can find more information on the DSW21 Kombiticket here).   • Accessibility

    Konzerthaus Dortmund is certified as an accessible space: it has step-free entrances and the foyer, stalls and first and second-floor balconies can be reached via lifts. Disabled-accessible toilets are available. An induction loop is available for hearing aid users.

  • Cloakroom

    We are happy to store your coats and rucksacks, and large musical instruments or umbrellas too, in the cloakroom. The cloakroom fee is €1.50.

  • Admission

    The entrance foyer and day/evening box office always open 90 minutes before the start of an event. (Different regulations may apply for third-party events.) You can take your seat 30 minutes before the start of an event at the earliest. If you arrive late, our foyer staff will, where possible, let you into the hall at a suitable point in the programme to prevent disruption to ongoing performances.

  • Photos and Audio Recordings

    Of course, you are permitted to take photos and make audio recordings for your own personal use during your visit to Konzerthaus Dortmund. However, please understand that during the performances, using devices to take photos or record audio is not permitted for copyright reasons.
