With its excellent hearing and the ability to independently move its ears, our mascot, the rhino, represents the outstanding acoustics of Konzerthaus Dortmund. Like Pegasus, it will give others wings and keep reaching new intellectual flights.

Four Artistic Directors have guided the development of Konzerthaus Dortmund so far. Founding director Ulrich Andreas Vogt was succeeded (after a brief interim by Albrecht Döderlein) in the fall of 2005 by Benedikt Stampa, who shaped the house for 13 years. Since 2018, musicologist and culture manager Dr Raphael von Hoensbroech has been the Artistic Director.
