About Your Visit
Konzerthaus Dortmund

Admission and Cloakroom

The entrance foyer and day/evening box office is always open 90 minutes before the start of the event. You can take your seat 30 minutes before the start of the event at the earliest.

If you arrive late, our foyer staff will, where possible, let you into the hall at a suitable point in the programme to prevent disruption to ongoing performances.

We are happy to store your coats and rucksacks, and large musical instruments or umbrellas too, in the cloakroom. Only bags up to a maximum size of DIN A4 are permitted in the concert hall (largest side max. 21.0 x 29.7 cm). The cloakroom fee is €1.50.

Introductions

Our musical experts will get you tuned in to the evening before the start of the concert with information and anecdotes about pieces and composers. The express introduction summarises the most important information again 20 minutes before the start of the concert and gives visitors that have just arrived an overview of the programme. You are then well-equipped to follow the musical course of the evening. You can find information on all introductions and speakers under the respective event on our website.

For children, we offer our Rhino Kids introductions for selected events.

Programmes

A detailed programme is available for each of our own classical music events. In addition to the programme for the evening, it contains biographies and photos of the people involved and introductions, several pages long, to the pieces by musicologists. These books are sold for €3.00 as a contribution towards the costs. You can get them from 4pm on the day before the concert from the box office or in the foyer at the concert itself. Three days before the concert date, you can find a PDF to download (not printable) on the page of the respective event. By using our digital program booklet, you are also making a contribution to sustainability.

Filming and Photos

Of course, you are permitted to take photos and make audio recordings for your own personal use during your visit to Konzerthaus Dortmund. However, please understand that during the performances, using devices to take photos or record audio is not permitted for copyright reasons.

Merchandise

Because the large rhinos are a little too unwieldy to use at home, the Konzerthaus mascot comes in many different forms and you can buy selected merchandise safely and simply here. The winged creature will then arrive at your home at little later – through the letterbox. You can get the whole range of merchandise at the Konzerthaus Dortmund box office or at the sales and information stand in the Konzerthaus foyer, which is available to you during most of our own events in the intervals and afterwards.
