Your Event at Our Venue
Konzerthaus Dortmund is an ideal location not only for concerts and operas but for all types of events too. The unique architecture and the atmosphere of one of the most renowned cultural establishments in Europe in the heart of Dortmund are also available for your private celebration, for a customer event or for a conference.
The large hall and other spaces such as foyers and lounges can be hired for public and private events. Of course, when the concert hall or other spaces are hired, the whole infrastructure of the venue can be used, such as the modern video, film and sound technology. Restaurant Stravinski is also available to serve visitors as a capable food and drink partner.
As the heart of the venue, the concert hall is of course suitable for all types of concerts, but also for talks, readings, conferences or for company or general meetings and similar events.
The stage offers a 200m² area for up to 130 people. It can be set up flexibly with furniture for standing or sitting and can be arranged for every occasion via the individually controllable raised platforms.
The concert hall with row seating offers spaces for up to 1560 people, of which 100 seats are on the 75 m² choir gallery.
The venue has comprehensive in-house technical systems, making sound amplification, video streaming and atmospheric lighting possible.
For musical performances, various grand pianos (Steinway D and B) and the large organ from the organ maker Klais are available. What’s more, other instruments can be hired from external partners.
The Hellweg lounge on the first foyer level of Konzerthaus Dortmund is ideally suited for receptions as part of concert visits: the lounge can be separated from the foyer area with sliding doors or used in its open form. The 80 m² area offers space for up to 60 people and can be equipped with flexible furniture options for standing or sitting. The concert hall is quick to access through the hall doors opposite. What’s more, mobile sound technology and TV screens are available for receptions, workshops or talks.
At 80 m², the largest lounge on the second foyer level of Konzerthaus Dortmund has an open design but can be separated with mobile partitions. The E.ON lounge offers space for up to 60 people and can be equipped with flexible furniture options for standing or sitting. What’s more, mobile sound technology and TV screens are available for receptions, workshops, talks or welcome ceremonies.
Wilo Foundation Lounge
The newly installed Wilo Foundation lounge on the second foyer level of Konzerthaus Dortmund offers a 60 m² space with room for up to 40 people. Together with the adjoining composers’ foyer, there is space for up to 90 people in this area.
The open lounge can be equipped with flexible furniture options for standing or sitting and is suitable for receptions, workshops, talks or welcome ceremonies. Audio equipment and TV screens are available here too.
With its open architecture, the composer’s foyer is suitable for receptions, workshops, readings, talks, congresses or welcome ceremonies. There is room for a maximum of 60 people in the 70 m² area with flexible furniture options for standing or sitting. What’s more, mobile sound equipment and TV screens are available.
The city foyer – the entrance area of Konzerthaus Dortmund – has an area of 500m² and offers flexible furniture options for standing or sitting. Up to 200 people can attend receptions, workshops, readings, small concerts, product presentations, podium discussions or performances here. In addition to lighting technology, mobile sound equipment and TV screens, mobile stage elements are also available.
Orchestra Rehearsal Room
The orchestra rehearsal room in the basement of Konzerthaus Dortmund is suitable for conferences, talks, general meetings or rehearsals. The 200m² area offers space for up to 80 people and can be equipped with flexible furniture options for standing or sitting. Mobile audio equipment, TV screens and lighting can also be used here.
Restaurant Stravinski is the right place to celebrate occasions such as birthday or anniversary parties. The restaurant team are happy to prepare a tailored catering offer for you and your celebration.
The multi-functional canteen area backstage at Konzerthaus Dortmund offers space for a maximum of 50 people with a “behind the scenes” atmosphere. You can make use of the space that is typically used by artists for their refreshments before the concert to host and serve your own guests.

Who Provides the Staff to Take Care of My Event?
Konzerthaus staff alone take care of the foyer, admission and cloakroom services and building technology for your event. You are responsible for the event content, but you can build on our experience in close coordination with the respective departments of Konzerthaus Dortmund.
Which Equipment Can I Hire?
Konzerthaus Dortmund has modern video, film and sound equipment that you can hire for your event as well as mobile lighting, stage elements and furniture for sitting and standing. Instruments such as our own grand pianos can also be provided to you, or hiring them from external partners can be arranged in consultation.
